Tom

Economics | University of Edinburgh

Subjects: Mathematics and Economics

I've been tutoring for over five years alongside studying Economics at the University of Edinburgh. I started Lothian Tutors to bring together approachable, knowledgeable tutors who genuinely enjoy teaching. I know how much difference the right tutor can make, and for me, the best part is seeing a student go from struggling with something to finally understanding it.

Medicine | University of Edinburgh

Subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology

I'm studying Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and have been tutoring with Lothian Tutors for over a year. I like to keep lessons relaxed and encourage students to ask questions. Breaking difficult topics into smaller steps and practising together helps students build their understanding and confidence.

Chemistry | University of Edinburgh

Subjects: English and Chemistry

Chemistry has always been a real passion of mine, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others. I believe understanding the core concepts is far more valuable than simply memorising answers. English was also my strongest subject at school, and I have particularly fond memories of studying Macbeth and Norman MacCaig. I want to help students develop that same appreciation for literature.

Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

I'm studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and have been tutoring for two years. I take a patient approach, breaking down difficult topics and revisiting previous material to make sure students understand before moving on. I also enjoy using practical examples to make challenging concepts easier to picture.
